Most LGBTQ+ friendly countries to visit in 2026
Countries with marriage equality and visibly accepting cultures, where LGBTQ+ travellers can usually travel as themselves. 30 destinations ranked.
For LGBTQ+ travellers who would rather not adjust how they behave for a trip, the list of countries that comfortably meet that bar is shorter than the headlines suggest. It has been growing since the late 2000s and a few countries have moved up the list in the last two or three years.
These are the countries Warnely tags as both legally protective and socially welcoming. Legal status reflects formal recognition (marriage equality or civil partnership). Social acceptance is a separate field collected from traveller reporting and refreshed when the country profile is reviewed.
