Privacy Policy

Warnely ("we", "us", "our") operates the Warnely mobile application. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.
1. Data We Collect
- Email address - used for account authentication and email alerts.
- City-level location - your current city and any cities you choose to monitor, used to deliver relevant safety alerts. We use low-accuracy location (cell/Wi-Fi, no GPS) and resolve it to a city name on your device.
2. Data We Do Not Collect
- Precise GPS coordinates - raw location data never leaves your device. Only the resolved city name is transmitted to our server.
- Advertising identifiers (IDFA/GAID) - we do not collect or use advertising identifiers.
- Contacts, photos, or other personal files - we have no access to these.
3. How We Use Your Data
- To send you safety alerts relevant to your watched cities and current location.
- To authenticate your account and deliver email notifications.
- To improve the reliability and relevance of our alerting service.
4. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services that may process your data:
- Supabase (database hosting, authentication) - stores your account data and watch zones.
- Firebase Cloud Messaging (Google) - delivers push notifications. Receives your push token and notification content.
- Mapbox - provides map tiles and geocoding. Receives map tile requests from your device.
- Resend - delivers email alerts and digests. Receives your email address and alert content.
5. Data Retention
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. Alert history is retained for 30 days after incidents expire. When you delete your account, all associated data (profile, watch zones, alert history) is permanently deleted from our servers.
6. Your Rights
- Access - you can view your data in the app (zones, alerts, profile).
- Deletion - you can delete your account at any time from Settings, which permanently removes all your data.
- Portability - contact us to request a copy of your data.
- Correction - update your profile information in the app or contact us.
If you are in the EU, you have additional rights under the GDPR including the right to restrict processing and the right to object. If you are in California, you have rights under the CCPA including the right to know what data is collected and the right to opt out of the sale of personal information.
7. Security
We use industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS), row-level security on our database, and secure token-based authentication.
8. Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via the app or email.
