Most dangerous countries in Asia in 2026
Asian countries with the highest combined safety risk in 2026, led by active-conflict zones and countries under blanket Do Not Travel advisories.
Asia has the widest internal variation in safety profile of any region. The same continent contains Singapore and Japan at the global top of safety rankings and Afghanistan, Myanmar, and North Korea at the bottom. The list below is the lower half of that distribution, ranked highest risk first.
For most of these countries, the risk is government-sanctioned rather than criminal: active war, persistent state repression, or active armed insurgency. Tourist travel for everyone but specialist categories is not viable.
